Ergon: The size difference

This is the most common question we receive at events and via email.  Ergon offers the GP1, GC2, GR2, GC3, GE1, and GA1 in 2 sizes. The small and large label refers to how thick or thin the grip is. There is no difference in the length or ‘wing’ size between the small and large.

The small grip is best for riders with small hands, women riders, those wearing thick padded gloves, or riders riding technical mountain bike terrain.  Most riders, male and female,  in the North American market are on the small size grips.

The large grip is best for men and women riders with large hands, commuting, and city riding.

The visual difference in thickness of the grips is evident in the image above. The Large is on the left, while the Small is on the right.

We highly recommend visiting an Ergon dealer to get ‘hands on’ with the grip you are considering purchasing.
